First edition in English, 1000 copies printed; 8vo, pp. 479, [1]; illustrations in the text; original pictorial wrappers; wear at the edges, old price sticker on title page, but on the whole, very good. From a blogger: Benavides "was born in Pachuca, Hidalgo, on July 28, 1907. He died on January 14, 1998 in Mexico City . He resided in the United States. He published his first short stories in Mexico magazine. He joined the Labor Movement in Mexico City. In 2012, the Government of the State of Hidalgo gave its relatives the Post Mortem Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla Medal. Some of his essays address esoteric issues. His novel The Double Nine was translated into French, English and Portuguese." Earliest English edition noted in OCLC is the fourth of the same year.
