Lothrop Publishing, Boston, 1901. Hardcover, 232 pp. 1st edition. Gilded head of text block, gold-stamped titles with illustration on front board. All illustrations are by F. C. Yohn. Tale set in New York state, set during the War of 1812 (USA v. Great Britain). Good with the first owner's name written on front free endpaper (in roundhand). Very light age toning at spine, stain at upper edge of front board, larger stains on rear board (see photos). Fraying at ends of spine, rubbed corner tips. Interior is relatively clean and bright.
