Add to basketOriginal marbled boards (hardcover) with printed label, in the scarce glassine jacket, original dark-blue chemise and slipcase. (8" x 4 3/4"). Limited, number 37 of only 176 copies printed by Bruce Rogers for The Rowfant Club on handmade paper. 12 pages, uncut/unopened pages, title-page vignette, headpieces and tailpiece. Provenance: laid-in are two typed letters from New York Booksellers, Thomas J. Gannon (Feb. 1929) and Philip Brooks (March 1931) to Rowfant member John Owens soliciting him to sell them his copy, also laid-in an old newspaper clipping explaining how the publication came about, "How Kipling was Bribed." A fine clean, tight copy in scarce glassine jacket and chemise; slipcase showing light shelf wear. A collectable and desirable copy of a scarce Kipling First Edition.
