Adulphus Thoresby by Vertue, large fold-out engraved map of leeds, double page engraving - "Prospect of Leeds from the Knostrop Road" 8 other double or fold-out engravings plus 2 single page engravings - all correct and in accordance with "Directions for placing the cuts", the fold-out plt at page 165 has a small piece missing. Numerous other engravings within text, a small crests on pages 131 and 182 have been neatly excised, o/w all present and correct. Original boards - worn a with a number of repairs, the leather spine is not contemporary but circa early 19th century. Contents are very good with some toning of the paper and a little age/finger soiling to some page edges. Engraved bookplate of Melville Joseph Hardcastle to front paste-down.
