About this Item
Near-Fine condition 1st Edition/1st Printing hardcover. Rare. No dust jacket. The Duo Code was one of several code systems used to save on the cost of cablegrams (which charged on a per-word basis) by converting phrases and sentences into four- or five-letter codes. It was developed by A.C. Meisenbach of San Francisco, who had previously developed the widely-used ACME Commodity and Phrase Code. This copy is in Near-Fine condition. It has been signed several times inside by the previous owner and has a few light smudges on the first few pages but is otherwise clean inside with no creases, marks or damage to pages. The 1/4 leather covers and spine are almost completely clean. No bumped corners or rub wear. The gilt lettering on the spine has faded leaving just a faint impression. This is a very large and heavy volume, so expedited or international shipping will require extra funds. It will be bubble-wrapped to protect its corners and shipped in a sturdy box to ensure safe delivery. Seller Inventory # ABJ67
