A book graded Near Fine takes the age into consideration. This is a splendid survey which captures a time successfully. This is wonderful history; it evokes a past we have largely lost, but it is in no way nostalgic. It is all the more effective because of that. The dust jacket is dull and a bit chipped, but it is now protected. The binding is firm. 132 magnificent photographs. Numerous line drawings enhance understanding. This is a superbly written book, which informs, entertains, and educates. Rare to find it in a complete jacket.
