Otherwise a very good copy and a definitive reference work for scholars, dealers and collectors. This is the first book devoted exclusively to English looking-glasses and it deals with the subject between the 1617 1820. The first section of the book deals with the frames and their makers. The second section describes the development of what was a very uncertain industry and the rivalries of the various glass manufactories, and covers briefly the composition and manufacture of looking-glass plates in the process of grinding, polishing, diamonding and foiling.
