This is a study of the history, organization, and evolution of the Methodist Episcopal Church in America. It starts by discussing the simple forms of the early Christian Church and goes on to deal with topics such as the modification of views in the Church of England after the Protestant Reformation, the change of Wesley's views in regard to Church governemnt, the growth of Methodism in Ameica, and the propriety and legitimacy of the organization of the Methodist Episcopal Church. Included are footnotes. This copy is tight and solid with a former owner's small bookplate on the front pastedown and a few very light pencil marks.
