First impression of the true first edition. Published during the early years of the First World War. Interestingly, there are two Erratum slips present, one bound in at the Contents page, and another at p.201. ***Very good in dark blue cloth-covered boards with gilt titles and borders to the spine and decorative blind borders to the front and rear boards. The gilt has dulled with age. The boards are largely clean and unmarked, but the spine has browned somewhat with age and handling. The head and tail of the spine are slightly frayed. Corners fairly sharp, with just slight bumps to the rear board corners. Offsetting to front and rear free endpapers and pastedowns. Hardly any foxing. Interior pages clean. With a neat pencil name and date to the front free endpaper 'A C Wood Dec 1932'. Spine tight.
