Octavo, cloth-backed boards. First edition. "One of the most generally popular books of the 1970s. THE EXORCIST is a well written, skillfully paced novel . William Friedkin's 1973 film adaptation, scripted by Blatty, was even more commercially successful than the book." - Barron (ed), Horror Literature 4-42. Barron (ed), Fantasy and Horror (1999) 6-36. Jones and Newman (eds), Horror: 100 Best Books 68. Survey of Modern Fantasy Literature I, pp. 501-03. Tymn (ed), Horror Literature 4-24. Winter list, p. 268. Binding leaned (a fault endemic to this poorly manufactured book), a very good copy in very good dust jacket (priced $6.95) with light rubbing at edges and 25 mm closed tear at upper front spine fold with neat internal tape mend. A pretty nice copy overall. (#158606).
