First edition of this uncommon memoir detailing the historical underpinnings and early guerilla warfare training and actions by the Irish Republican Army by one of its former officers. O'Callaghan (1918-2000) details their struggles against the Irish Free State, guerilla warfare with General O'Duffy's fascist-minded Blueshirts, fighting with the Communists in the Spanish Civil War, and even flirting with Hitler during World War II.
