First edition, first printing, published by Macmillan in 1919. Blue cloth covers, gilt titles to spine are dulled with some pushing to head and tail of spine. Square binding, there is a previous owners name to the front free endpaper, the half title page is tanned and with a shadow of the previous owners name, rest of pages clean and bright. Very good condition. Keynes' economic ideas revolutionised economic and political thinking at the time. This book, which went on to become a best seller around the world, established Keynes as a leading economic thinker and played an important role in shaping public opinion towards a more generous peace agreement and against treaties that punished the defeated nations, in particular Germany.
