BAL 23011, binding "b" (no priority). Abundant gilt decoration front cover, gilt edge pages. Illustrations. Book measures 11 x 14 1/4. Slight chipping to spine top and bottom. Edwin Booth was born in 1833. His father was an actor and Edwin often accompanied him as attendant and dresser on his dramatic tours. Biographical sketch of the life of Edwin Booth. The biographer also provides sketches of Booth's many performances with full-page illustrations of the actor in costume as: Hamlet; Richelieu; Othello; Bertuccio; Richard III; Brutus; King Lear; Shylock; Macbeth; Benedick; Don Caesar de Bazan; Claude Melnotte.
