Stapled text block in card stock wrappers. 6 X 9 inches. Rusted staples, rubbing wear to spine and edges, curling to the book. xvi, 230 pages with Glossary of Terms, Bibliography, and Manufacturer's Listing. Numerous illustrations throughout, some in color. Stated First Edition on the title page. Signed by the author to a previous owner. An early foundational book from the modern hobby's formative era, arriving just as consumer metal detectors were transitioning from heavy industrial surplus units to dedicated recreational hobby electronics. Books dedicated specifically to consumer metal detecting and treasure hunting methodology were sparse prior to the 1970s, making LeGaye's 1969 handbook an early milestone text for hobbyists. B50.
