Inner hinges starting, covers rubbed, some edgewear, small holes in front free endpaper of Vol. 1, some scattered foxing, else a very good set. Evans 30578. Kames (1696-1782) was a well known Scotch lawyer and jurist. His Elements of Criticism is a widely known classic in the field of aethetics where he codified the Lockian "ideal presence."
