First edition, first printing- the earliest privately printed edition available with 1918 listed as the year of publication on the bottom of the front cover. Measuring approximately 7.5" x 5" with 43 numbered pages. The book is in very good condition. Minor surface wear and staining. Small moisture stain on the front board. Interior pages are clean and well preserved. Cornell University English professor William Strunk Jr. wrote The Elements of Style in 1918 and privately published it in 1919, for use at the university.
