About this Item
8vo. [15], 2-128, [2] pp. Navy cloth with gold lettering on the spine. Slater 313. This book is based on the 1993 Jean Nicod lectures in which Fodor continues work he began in The Language of Thought in 1975. Fodor's focus is on the apparent tension between the view that mental states are characteristically intentional and the view (inspired by Turing) the view that mental states are characteristically computational. Fodor sketches a theory designed to ameliorate these tensions. A sharp copy of one of Fodor's later books. Seller Inventory # 00009648
