Reviews

Captain Jake Gulliver, a.k.a. Sandman, is a Green Beret who also deals in occasional assassinations for the CIA in the Vietnam of the early 1970s. Steelman, a.k.a. Razor, is Gulliver's superior in Saigon and harbors a pathological hatred for him. Dang, a former VC; Nhu, Gulliver's mistress; a ravishingly beautiful lady agent; and assorted American and Vietnamese officials, spies, and killers are involved in a torturously complex situation involving murder, lies, bribery, revenge, lust, and American aid. The plot and the intricate background are deftly woven and filled with fascinating characters that stay with the reader. Bloody, frustrating, fascinating stuff by the author of Gardens of Stone. Highly recommended. Robert H. Donahugh, Youngstown and Mahoning Cty. P.L., Ohio
