Reviews
Reliable, trustworthy, and containing a variety of challenging projects, the Singer Reference Library series continues to present books that will easily attract the home sewer, dressmaker, quilter, and embroiderer. The instructions are exacting and detailed; photographic illustrations show hands at work marking fabric, gluing, ironing, using rulers and rotary cutters, and sewing manually and by machine. Those interested in using beads, organza overlays, buttons, charms, metallic thread, and silk ribbon embroidery will find quite a lot of inspiration here. There are some flashy projects--e.g., a tasseled log cabin that may not appeal to everyone! But the book is useful for beginners, though there is much to challenge any ambitious needleworker.
