The volume is newly rebound in crimson cloth with a gilt embossed label on the spine, contents very good with astounding quality engravings of engines, bridges, mechanical devices to almost every page AND with 20 fold out engraved plates. Heavy folio.*Subjects included in this volume 6 months issues are; Lots on Electrics & the latest invented machinery with patent details, etc, The Port of Calcutta various aspects of its construction, Apparatus for Colliery machinery, Torpedo Boat boilers and other shipping engines, inc the Yonkers 8th Avenue Ferry and Bridge (fold-out plate also) with the engineers names, ventilation machines and industrial cold fridges, fold out plate of the side elevation of a Gondola car on the New York Central and Hudson River Railroad, Paddle Steamer "Midlothian" Granton and Burntisland Ferry North British Railway with a large folding diagram of the side elevations, lots of news reports of incidents and world wide news extracts or brief reports of weekly occurrences, etc, etc.

We are a small, single-owner business. We have been operating on and off since 1977 and our stock is varied, leaning towards antiquarian and 19th century with the addition of original aquatint and lithographic, or woodcut engravings. Also maps and Ephemera - in fact, anything interesting on paper really. We have in stock every item we list. We do not use stock photographs, but photograph each item individually. We very rarely use "fine" or "mint" as a description, mainly due to the age and the fact that 99.9% of what we sell has been pre-owned and therefor Fine would not be a term for a book we sell despite its fine-like appearance. We always take items back unreservedly if not in the condition as described. We always try to describe fully.
