The first in what would become a series of books about Brer Rabbit by the beloved British children's author, will illustrations throughout by Grace Lodge. This one contains 27 tales. Orig. published in Sept. 1948, this is the Third Impression of that First Edition from Dec. of that same year. Small 8vo hardcover bound in publisher's green cloth over boards, with black lettering to upper spine. Condition is VG-/Good+: very clean (save for light spotting to front board), binding strong & straight, pages creamy white with mild tanning to edges, but unmarked. Flaws are primarily external, including fading & rubbing to extremities, heaviest along spine & all corners, with cloth rubbed down to underlying boards in spots. No DJ.
