No date but, first edition 1932 Blue cloth boards - titles in gilt, foxed, corners bumped, edges rubbed. Other marks. Foxing to closed page edges and slight spotting through book. 224 pages, sketches and b&w photos. There are 2 pull-out plans attached: Strohen Camp (very good condition) Escape route (creased). The author served in the trenches for 18 months with the 1st Battalion, The Cheshire Regiment. Transferring to the RFC he joined 25 squadron as an observer in F.E. 2b s during the final phase of the Battle of Arras in April 1917. Subsequently shot down and captured by the Germans on May 1 1917 during a bombing raid. The book meticulously describes his plans and subsequent successful escape.
