Posthumous publication of this work proposing an integrated canal system in France linking the five main rivers and main cities and towns. There is a foldout map printed on thick quality paper of the roads of France with hand coloured lines depicting 1st and 2nd class roads and 2 section of railway. The earliest French railway dates to 1827. Size of the map without borders is 53 x 53 cm. The spine and corners have been rebacked in leather retaining previous marbled boards which have some rubbing. New end papers. periodic light foxing. Reliure en 1/2 cuire. Quleques rousseurs.
