Contemporary calf, blind fillets to boards, raised bands, blind fillets and lettering piece to spine. Light rubbing and a few small scuffs and scratches to boards, front board near detached, moderate rubbing to extremities, light gatoring to spine, chipping to its foot, rear hinge just starting at foot, corners bumped and somewhat worn, faint offsetting to preliminaries, small bookseller ticket to front pastedown. Light toning to interior, occasional light soiling, light foxing in a few places. $275. * First edition. According to Marvin, this was the first treatise to compile and classify decisions on "the subtle distinctions of Powers." A second and final edition was published in 1799.
