Ex-U.S. Information Agency with a manuscript spine label, their stamp on the front pastedown and topedge (with a discard overstamp on the pastedown), and a rear card pocket. Binding with a toned spine, general wear, and the corners just worn through, very good and sound. According to the title page, Newman completed advanced studies in Prague and Oxford, and was at that time a professor and head of the Department of Political Science at Dacca University. He edited a 1983 book titled *Pakistan: Thirty-five Years After Independence* (Hamburg: The German Pakistan Forum) in which he is described as having taught in East and West Pakistan for 14 years, and "been associated with Pakistan almost since its founding.".
