First Dublin edition, 12mo, pp. [2], iv, 248; engraved vignette title page; contemporary full calf, red morocco label on spine; near fine. Early engraved Irish bookplate of Cornelius O'Callaghan, 1st Viscount Lismore (1775-1857). He married Lady Eleanor Butler, daughter of John Butler, 17th Earl of Ormonde and Lady Frances Susan Elizabeth Wandesford, in 1808, but they were divorced in 1826, so the bookplate must have been done between these two dates. Scott makes no mention of this Dublin edition which, like its London predecessor of 1766, adds two new essays not in the 1765 editions. NCBEL II, col. 1197. Seller Inventory # 34141
