Charles Rennie Mackintosh's short career produced a number of architectural landmarks as well as over 400 pieces of furniture in a 10-year period. During his lifetime his creative genius was not fully recognized, and it was only after his death that people came to realize how innovative and important his work really was.Written with a comprehensive introduction, Essential Charles Rennie Mackintosh looks at all aspects of his style, with a detailed commentary on 120 of his works. Some of these are considered his most important pieces; others may be less well known, but they are all essential to his artistic and philosophical development.
