1951. First Edition. 245 pages. Yellow and white pictorial dust jacket over brown cloth with gilt lettering to front and spine. Black and white photographic plates. Upper text block edge dyed yellow. Pages are lightly tanned at the edges, with light foxing. Binding has remained firm. Occasional thumb marks to page edges. Pencil inscriptions to front and rear endpapers. Notable foxing to plates and opposing pages. Boards have slight shelf wear with bumping to corners. Spine ends are a little crushed with light tanning. Boards are slightly bowed. Notable forward lean. Gilt slightly dulled. Light wear to unclipped dust jacket with small tears, nicks and creases to spine, edge and corners. Moderate foxing to spine and edges. Small chip to front panel. Intense blotchy foxing to underside.
