252pp.+ 2pp publisher's ads. 6.7 inches. Grey cloth, blindstamped in art nouveau design, black titles on spine. Slight movement in the hinges but not cracked or split. Internally, vg, no owner's marks, browned pages. In original pictorial jacket, worn edges and closed tear to spine fold, and now protected in mylar wrap. No date stated, but internal evidence in the ads at the back, mention 1918, so, c.1920. Uncommon edition of 1872 novel.
