A very scarce first edition of this look into the approaching war in Gibraltar in the mid eighteenth century, written by the noted author Daniel Defoe. A very scarce. The first edition of this work. ESTC citation number T70335. An interesting work on the possibility of war that was being debated in 1727, as Spain declared the nullification of the Treaty of Utrecht's provisions in relation to Gilbitrar, on the grounds that Britain had violated it's terms. Collated, bound without plate as called for by the ESTC. Written by Daniel Defoe. Rebound in paper wraps. Externally, smart. A small amount of edgewear to the wraps. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are lightly age-toned and generally clean with the odd spot. Numerical inscription to the head of the title page. Very Good Indeed. Seller Inventory # 705P21
