4to, cloth. xviii+234 pp, 125 illustrations (5 in color), index. Pearson was a well-respected pedagogue of the Thirties and Forties who was the author of half a dozen books on contemporary art and its appreciation. He taught at the New School for Social Research in New York City and lectured widely, and was the founder of the Design Workshop, one of the early correspondence art schools. Before conccentrating on teaching he was a practicing artist who achieved success as a printmaker. Very good other than for minor soiling and discoloration, name on flyleaf; in a worn dj with edge losses (in a protective sleeve).

Store description

We are located in White Plains, NY, about 45 minutes north of New York City, and convenient to major highways. Metro North trains from Grand Central Station run several times an hour. Although visitors are welcome, we are not an open shop so please call for an appointment and directions. Threre are also one or two open shops and several private dealers in neighboring towns.
