About this Item

No date on the book but this is the first edition from 1927. Corners rubbed with slight fraying on the bottom corners and at top and bottom of the spine. Small surface stain in centre of front panel and another in the centre of the rear panel. Endpapers browned with a five digit number stamped on the front free endpaper and also on the rear free endpaper. Faint trace of about 10 dates written on rear pastedown suggesting that the book was in some sort of lending library but there are no other Library stamps. Slight tear at bottom of front hinge but the binding is fairly tight. Page edges browned but the pages are otherwise clean and unmarked. No jacket. First printing. From the collection of Peter Haining although there is nothing on the book to indicate this. Thin extract from George Locke catalogue laid in. Seller Inventory # 006491
