About this Item
** 1ST EDITION, 1905 ** STURDY CLOTH-BOUND HARDCOVER ** NO DUSTJACKET ** FORMER LIBRARY BOOK, OTHERWISE VERY GOOD CONDITION ** CLEAN AND STAIN-FREE ** TEXT UNMARKED ** Published by Sands & Company/B. Herder, 1905, with 440 pages, plus 10 full-page illustration plates. NOTE: The photos you can access with this listing are of the actual book you will be sent; please examine them closely as they provide the best indication of condition. NOTE: EX-LIBRARY BOOK, please expect library markings and indicia. However, aside from the library markings, the book has no significant flaws, but shows only quite brief, occasional, minor signs of use or age (a bit of wear and tear to cloth at the top of the spine, a touch of wear at the corner tips, pages faintly age-toned, and it does not show up well in our photos, but a bit of fading or discoloration to the cloth binding along the spine and the board edges front and rear). Book is bound in heavy-duty cloth-covered boards with embossed gilt emblem on the front, gilt lettering on the spine, top exterior page edges also gilt (somewhat dulled). All in all, a surprisingly well-preserved copy given its age. The book is quite clean and stain-free, square and straight, still firm and tight in its binding, no pages are loose or missing. The hinges are sound and undamaged, the corners have not bumped. All pages are clean and stain-free, and all text is crisp and legible. We detected no writing, underlining, highlighting, or other such markings in the text itself.
