Add to basket(8) 106 (1) pages. First Edition Thus. Illustrated by David Stone Martin. Limited edition of 475 un-numbered copies. Printed by Adrian Wilson at his Press in Tuscany Alley, San Francisco. Edited with Introduction by Prof. James D. Hart of The University of California, Berkeley. Prospectus laid in. Linen-backed Illustrated green boards, 6 3/4" x 10". In this book, eleven California authors describe their earliest appearances in print. The authors are Richard Henry Dana, Mark Twain, Bret Harte, Joaquin Miller, Gertrude Atherton, Gelett Burgess, Mary Austin, Wallace Irwin, Jack London, Robinson Jeffers and William Saroyan. Reproductions of representative pages from the authors' original publications are tipped in. In my opinion, one of the most handsome and interesting books published by The Book Club of California.
