Dark blue "bobbled" cloth, spine titled in gilt, and slightly smaller than Binding B. Edges foxed, spine bumped. Good only in chipped dust-wrapper. Based on A.H.E. Wood's precepts on Scottish salmon fishing with the "greased line" and small fly. Simpson also discusses bank angling (as opposed to wading), on the larger Southern rivers such as the Wye, Test, Avon and Blackwater. Chapters include: The floating line method - preliminary introduction; Rods and tackle particulars; Starting off to fish - the general idea; Casting details - switch over, feed up, etc; Greased line or sunken method?; The size of fly - its choice and changing; The 'non-strike' and playing considerations; Gaffing and things in general. .
