First edition (not stated). Paginated as [8], 1-119, A1-A38, 1-19. Paperback: H 21.5cm x L 13.75cm. Light gray paper covers, light toning to spine and along edges of front cover, soiling and toning in vertical pattern to rear cover. Light toning to edges with small light stain to top edge. Interior pages are clean. Binding remains fairly crisp. A very good copy. An uncommon local history publication featuring eleven chapters review the history and development of Columbus, Mississippi from the era of Spanish exploration to the arrival of the town's earliest settlers prior to 1825. Includes Bibliography, Index, and separately numbered 38 page appendix titled as NOTES ON EARLY DAYS OF SOUTH ALABAMA by George S. Gaines. {MS-Shelf #7}.
