Dark blue cloth with gilt lettering on spines. 13" x 9". Discoloration along right edges of two of the covers. No library stamps; no bookplate. These three hardbound volumes include a consecutive run of Angell's writings and analysis of International Affairs from October 1928 through July 6, 1940 when he edited this periodical and Supplements to Time and Tide. Some notes and markings in pencil are found in the first volume; these match samples of Angell's handwriting. Laid in are paper ephemera belonging to Sir Norman Angell: (1) Note card on Czechoslovakia; (2) Envelope posted 1954 and addressed to Sir Norman Angell of Surrey; and (3) formal invitation to a reception in 1961 hosted by The Council of The Royal Society of Literature. Angell (1872-1967) was a prolific author, Member of Labour Party in British Parliament, and a Nobel Laureate, having been awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1933. This is a well-preserved collection of periodicals published during the critical years of the prelude to World War II. First volume lacks first page in October 1928 issue; otherwise books in Very Good condition.
