Covers clean and bright, gilt bright (!), some foxing marks on the leading edge of the textblock but not affecting the interior, else near fine to fine with no internal markings. "The nucleus of this book was a course of four Syr. D. Owen Evans Lectres given in February 1954at the University College of Wales, Aberystwyth." [from the Preface] Charles Harold Dodd was Norris-Hulse Professor of New Testament in Cambridge University. J>A.T. Robinson writes a very laudatory Foreword commending this book to the reader.
