Octavo, pp. [1-6] 7-336 + undated 16-page publisher's catalogue inserted at rear, title page printed in orange and black, original pictorial green cloth, front panel stamped in red, black, white and gold, spine panel stamped in black and gold, t.e.g., other edges untrimmed. A collection of short fiction, at least half of which are crime stories. [Reference: Hubin (1994), p. 554]. Cloth edges rubbed and a bit darkened, spine cloth faded with gilt fairly bright and ends a bit worn, a good to very good copy. The first printing is uncommon. (27977).
