Major John Griffith was the Commissoner of Athletics, etc. George "Potsy" Clark was a football and baseball coach at theUniversity of Kansas, etc. Section numbered pages. (This hardbound book is more than one inch thick.) 12mo (5 1/2" wide x 7 3/8" tall). Considerable tape has been used on this book, Illustrated Wilson football advertisements abound. A large tan colored paper applique of a running,helmetless oldtime football player is on the cover. "Football" applique on the spine. A helmeted, old time player is papered inside the front & rearcovers. Elsewhere there are papered appliques of old time players. Illustrated with photos and diagrams. Endpapers only toned though the exteriorshows wear. Unmarked, clean and tightly bound. In good or better condition.

This collection of books belonged to my Father. He was an Antiquarian Bookseller most of his life. He owned and operated a retail bookstore for over 50 years in Florida. He then retired to the North Carolina Mountains where he continued to collect and sell books. Each one of these titles were hand held, personally described, and added to his inventory of collectibles.
