There is a little denting to the fore edge of the front panel of the boards, bumping at the top and bottom of the spine and a little edge rubbing. The page edges have some browning and there is a little edge wear to the first few pages and small creases to a few pages near the front of the book a little further on. Small patch of label residue to the bottom right corner of the front free endpaper but the pages are otherwise clean and unmarked. The jacket has a little edge creasing. First printing.

About the Author

Javier Marias was born in 1951. He has published twelve novels, two collections of stories and a number of essay collections, winning a dazzling array of international literary awards. His work has been translated into 37 languages in 47 countries and more than six million copies of his books have been sold worldwide. He has held academic posts in Spain, the United States and in Britain, as Lecturer in Spanish Literature at Oxford University, and has recently been nominated a member of the Real Academia de la Lengua Espanola. He lives in Madrid.
