2004. xxvii, 190pp. "From Czechoslovakia's former president comes a unique account of the last two weeks of September 1938, leading up to the Munich pact. Based on a newly discovered and previously unpublished manuscript and augmented with wartime speeches and other important documents, this book recounts the painful experience of the Sudeten Crisis and the formation of a Benes's government-in-exile. Writing not from a pro-Soviet perspective - which he might have done in 1945 - but from the perspective of mid-1941, Benes had put his hope in the decisive victory of the British Empire over Nazi Germany. Milan Hauner provides a detailed introduction and critical annotation based on information found from original manuscripts." Both book and unclipped dust jacket are in excellent condition. All contents are tight and clean. There are no inscriptions.
