First American hardcover, with dust jacket, published by Walker & Co, 1961. First published in UK in 1957, this is the fourth in the Simon Manton series. Detective Superintendent Manton is on the case of the death of a young barrister, when a second murder complicates the case. The dust jacket is intact, and is not price clipped, jacket has been protected with a clear, removable cover. Red cloth covered boards are flat, the corners are not bumped or worn. Former price is written on the top corner of the first flyleaf, along with 'Dup?' just below the price. Binding is tight and square. No former ownership marks, no writing on the text pages.
