The front cover is age toned with some dustiness and spine is also age-toned with a little rub to top and bottom, Back cover is solid with a crease to lower tip. There is a pretty bookplate to the front and the pages are age-toned otherwise unmarked. Front cover illustration by Ralph Thompson. This is is a scarce Penguin first edition of a highly successful account - sometimes fictionalised - of Gerald Durrell's younger years in Corfu with his familly. A charming book, made into a film in 2005 and a tv series called 'The Durrellls' about the 'Corfu series' of books and starring Keeley Hawes as 'mother'. Not exlib and packed and sent with care.
