According to Hartley (1514), this was published in 55 parts between 1821 - 1826 and in two volumes. It is largely descriptions of the leading fighters and fights of the old prize ring with memoirs of the likes of Cribb, Belcher, Randall, Donnelly, Scroggins, Molineux and many other. Also contains additional information on field sports, cricket and other gentlemanly pursuits. This is volume one containing parts 1-28. 8vo. 680pp. Old half calf, raised bands, gilt lettering to spine, rubbed and worn. Marbled endpapers, hinge cracked.
