* AS PICTURED * FIRST EDITION, First Printing, c1942. Small 4to (23 x 17.5 )cms booklet, pink card wraps, 8pp of which two have full-page b/w illustrations by William Roberts, who was also responsible for the brilliant front cover design - all commissioned specifically for this work. Original studies in graphite and ink are held in the Tate Prints Dept. It is clear from these that William Roberts gave a good deal of attention to the work. He was a self-proclaimed 'English Cubist', though perhaps more accurately a Vorticist, as he was a leading member of the Movement. The wraps are browned/toned and a trifle grubby, but without significant faults. Internally a speckling of light sporadic foxing throughout, although the illustration pages are predominantly unaffected. PLEASE SEE FOUR ACCOMPANYING IMAGES. A very decent copy of a scarce item.
