Add to basketGreen cloth with color illustrations to spine and front cover. Edge wear, light foxing, and writing on the rear endpapers. Vertical creasing to most pages. Front free endpaper appears to have been removed and there is tearing at the gutter. 127 pages plus 34 pages of the publisher's book ads. Illustrations (hand-colored?) by E.W. De Guérin. Colors appear smudged or running on some of the illustrations. In the publisher's catalogue at the back of the book, Father Christmas's Stories is referenced as a volume in the Illustrated Shilling Juvenile Books series ("now numbering 9 vols."). OCLC locates only one edition, published in 1891, with only four copies found, all in the United Kingdom (Edinburgh, London, Oxford, and Cambridge). Very scarce. We find evidence of only one other title by this author (The Palace of Ideas) and nothing on her.
