Dark blue cloth on boards with bright silver gilt lettering to spine. Book is tight, square, sharp-cornered and free of major flaws or markings other than a stamp of price on ffep of $1.00. Book is Fine. Clipped Dust Jacket is Near Fine with only minor scuffing or shelfwear. Important book - Rieff's ideas and writing reached the peak of popularity in the 1960s, when he was known as cultural philosopher and an interpreter of the works of Sigmund Freud. He contributed to the idea of cultural modernization and secularization via his theory about a "Psychological Man." Quite Uncommon in this condition - first edition, first printing with full number line on last page.
