[5], 5-219, [1], [3] (pages of publisher's advertisements), [1] pp. Green cloth with gold lettering and a gold decoration on the front board, gold lettering and a gold rule on the spine; all edges green. With 52 illustrations from photographs showing the ferns in their natural homes, and 60 cuts from outline drawings (frontispiece and full-page black and white photographs and drawings, all done in black and white). Light wear to the extremities and a name from 1932 on the free front endpaper.
