First edition, with half-title. 8vo. 56, [4], [2] pp. Todd & Bowden 84Aa. Modern rebinding of quarter cloth over paper-covered boards, printed title label to upper cover; original drab paper wrappers preserved and bound in, with rubbing and shallow flaking to the edges. Ownership signature to first blank dated Nov. 3, 1815 — within weeks of publication. Blanks at front and rear spotted and toned, but text pages bright and fresh.Complete with the terminal advertisement leaves, including Ballantyne's list of Scott's works and, on the final unnumbered leaf, Richard Sasse's proposals for publishing prints of the Battle of Waterloo and the Defence of Hougoumont. VG.
